Europe's Next-Gen EuroDrone Program Receives $118 Million Grant

The European Union has awarded their newest drone program, The Eurodrone, with a grant totalling $118 million. The program aims to develop a new reconnaissance and intelligence drone made in Europe.

This new program is part of a growing trend in Europe, where countries wish to rely less of the technology of countries like the US and Israel. The program is being led by three companies; French companies Airbus and Dassault Aviation as well as Italian firm Leonardo.

The goal of the project is to supply France, Germany, Italy and Spain with twenty sets of three drones by the year 2028. The program is expected to cost a total of €7.1 billion.
