Skillbridge Program

EEC Solutions is proud to currently participate in the Department of War (DOW) SkillBridge program, a career transition initiative that connects highly trained, transitioning service members with civilian industry partners during their final months of military service.

SkillBridge is designed for active-duty service members who are within 180 days of separation or retirement, allowing them to gain hands-on experience, develop in-demand skills, and smoothly transition into the civilian workforce, while continuing to receive their military pay and benefits.

Through this program, EEC Solutions supports veterans by providing meaningful training opportunities while strengthening our team with proven leaders and technical professionals.

Skillbridge Program FAQ

For details regarding eligibility and program guidelines please visit the DOW Skillbridge website at: https://dodskillbridge.usalearning.gov/faq.htm

Duration of the On-the-Job Training

To be eligible for the SkillBridge program, participants must be within 180 days of their military separation, in accordance with SkillBridge program guidelines (see the official SkillBridge website). EEC Solutions requires a minimum commitment of 90 days for participation, though longer participation periods are strongly encouraged.

What Happens After I Apply?

Once your application is submitted, our team will review your resume. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a virtual interview. If selected, we will coordinate with you to establish mutually agreed-upon start and end dates for the training program.

Where Will the Training Take Place?

EEC Solutions operates as a fully remote organization by design, enabling us to effectively support the diverse needs of our clients while fostering flexibility, trust, and innovation within our workforce. This operating model has been central to our success since the company’s founding and has allowed us to consistently deliver high-impact solutions. SkillBridge participants will complete approximately 50% of their on-the-job training remotely, with the remaining 50% consisting of in-person or instructor-led training experiences.

What Are the Expected Work Hours?

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We understand the demands of military transition and remain flexible to accommodate required transition-related obligations.

What Skills and Knowledge Will I Gain?

Depending on the specific training track you are accepted into, participants will gain exposure to a wide range of core business operations. These may include human resources functions, business development and capture planning, information and facilities security, financial management, and contract administration. In addition, trainees will learn about common government acquisition methods, contract vehicles used in the industry, and what day-to-day operations look like in a civilian corporate environment.

Is This Program a Good Fit for Me?

Ideal candidates typically have experience in one or more of the following areas or expertise:

  • Staff roles at a Joint Headquarters

  • Human Capital Management

  • Department of War Contracting and/or Acquisition (Contracting Officer and/or Acquisition Officer)

  • Financial Management

  • Information Security Management

  • Facility Security Management

  • Special Operations Commands

  • Interagency experience (e.g., Department of State, DIA, DHS)

These experience areas align closely with EEC Solutions’ mission and service focus and are likely to provide the greatest mutual benefit. Relevant prior experience helps participants better understand our customers’ needs and how our organization supports them.

If you are interested in learning the fundamentals of government contracting, business operations, and long-term strategic planning, this on-the-job training program may be a strong fit for you.

How Are Skillbridge Members Selected?

As a small but expanding company, EEC Solutions carefully evaluates each candidate. Selection priority is given to individuals whose backgrounds align with our organizational needs and whose experience we are best positioned to support during their transition into the civilian workforce.

Is There an Opportunity for Full-Time Employment After the Program?

EEC Solutions is continuously seeking talented professionals as we grow. While we may extend full-time employment offers to some SkillBridge participants, employment is not guaranteed. Regardless, we are committed to supporting all participants by helping them develop transferable, market-ready skills applicable to roles within our company or across the government contracting industry.
